Hi All

Hope you all enjoyed the Royal Wedding, and wasn’t Katherine’s dress absolutely fab?! Also have to comment on her immaculate and understated, sophisticated makeup – a very mature and grown-up look but it sooo suited her. I have to say I had a tear in my eye whilst watching – I’m not usually a Monarchy fan, but William and Katherine do really seem like a normal, grounded couple who are deeply in love……ahhhhhhhh !!! Hopefully they’ll bring the monarchy back into favour and into a more realistic world.

Well, that’s enough of the Wedding, otherwise I’ll be rambling on page after page – lol !! Some exciting things have been going on here in the last week. We’re about to launch a couple of new categories… one for wholesale makeup and another for hair extensions. We’re just waiting for a bit of IT work, then we’re hot to trot !! Will be great to have some new categories added !!

We’ve also been busy adding loads of new products onto the website. Have you seen the Constance Caroll Glimmer Shimmer Compacts ? Surprise, surprise !!!!  Its a dreary damp Saturday morning!  Why oh why does it always rain on a weekend ? But today I am determined not to get down with this horrible English weather. Instead I am turning to my magic box of designer cosmetics. Well perhaps not so designer, but a little box of magic it certainly is !!!

I’ve been itching to get my hands on Maybelline’s Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara recently, but I knew we had a shipment coming in at work so decided to wait… and yesterday they arrived!! And ohhhhhh…… what a lovely sight they were. All glossy and sparkly in their lovely turquoise and purple packaging!

And of course, when John asked me what I was going to review this weekend…… well that was a difficult one to answer ?!? – FALSIES of course !!!! lol It put a huge smile on my face yesterday picking one up, so has it faired up as well as I’d hoped ? Read on and find out…

First of all, the packaging. I just love this packaging. It’s bright, eye catching and in great colours. Only thing that did worry me, is whether all Falsies were waterproof or not….. I had to check all over the packaging to make sure the one I was choosing was not waterproof – the turquoise packaging just threw me a bit that’s all.  But no, this one wasn’t.

The packaging description really does go for it on the false lash effect……. Here’s what Maybelline say about the product : More visible lashes, fills in the gaps. Instant volume. False lash effect with spoon shaped brush. Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of more lashes. The wand is definitely unique and flexible…. do I like it ? In a word …. No. I really disliked the actual wand. I found it difficult to use and to grip lashes, but perhaps that’s just me. I don’t like curved brushes full stop!

But, with that said, once I got accustomed to the wand and how it worked best in applying the mascara, the mascara itself was great. It was none clumping, did fill the gaps in my lashes (of which there are many – too much picking at old mascara when bored !!!! Disgusting habit, I know, but hey, we can’t all be perfect !) and it did volumise, thicken and lengthen my lashes.  Did it give me a false lash

effect like this ? Actually, not far off! Perhaps not quite as voluminous as these show, but pretty good overall. My Saturday morning has definately been cheered up and I can go out now looking like a goddess – lol!!! Ah well, perhaps not a goddess….. but maybe a princess ?! hee hee

Try the FALSIES out. You won’t be disappointed but don’t expect really long, glamourous false lashes, this really is up to the art of false lashes and not a mascara !!

Wow….. where does the week go ?! It’s Tuesday already, nearly half way through the week. Before we know it, it will be the weekend again – Yippee!!  So, what’s new this week ?

Well firstly, and I’d like to say most importantly, my tan is fading fast! I’ve been using every tan prolonging product available, but alas, the good old English weather really does nothing for keeping your tan

On the work front though, there’s the new Fabulous February Competition which was launched this weekend, and there’s a whopping £50 gift voucher up for grabs for spending in our online store – OMG !!! Also, there’s some really, really secret news…… we’ve just bought another Company! This is absolutely fantastic for all of us here as we are really starting to get established, but also great for you guys as we will be able to offer so much more. Well what an exciting adventure that was ! Grace and little old me in Barbados… we had such a good time and have come back with such lovely tans. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !!!!

So how did everyone spend their New Year ? Bet you didn’t spend it like me….. or maybe some of you did…… after all, somebody had to give me this dreaded winter Lurgy!! The cold was back with avengance and ruined everything. I ended up drifting up to bed, in my very un-sexy pyjamas, thick woolly socks, scarf and old handknitted chunkyjumper (I was cold!) at about 10.30pm and heard nothing until the whining of my little Dudley wanting his breakfast the next morning at 8.30am! And guess what, I felt a 100 times better and ready to party….. well not quite, but I did feel much, much better for sleeping it off.

But all in all, I was pretty controlled with my spending, and made sure I had just a little left over ready for the New Year Sales at Cosmetic Kingdom !!!! Yayy!!!! Can’t wait to be back in the saddle tomorrow and have a good search through the bargains. Don’t worry, I’ll be leaving plenty for you guys to be sifting through. I know John has been sourcing loads of new products whilst we’ve all been on our festive jollies (I think he’s a bit of a workaholic to tell you the truth!!), so I can’t wait to have a root through these too. Everything will be on the website by the end of the week, so don’t despair… just be patient and check us out at the weekend ! Hey Everyone !!!!!

Hope you all had a happy and very merry Christmas !!! But wow……where did it go ? It went so quickly, I think I blinked and missed it !! But I do remember getting some fab presents. Check these out…….I soooooo needed GHD’s this year. My hair has been a mop of frizz and staticness just lately as my old straighteners were giving up the ghost, but Santa must have read my Christmas letter to him this year, as in my stocking were these gorgeous GHD’s in the ultimate of ultimate colours – PINK !!!!!!!

Here they are in all their glory. Have been taming and calming my hair for the last 4 days and now it looks just perfect. All styled, bouncy, full of vitality and fabulousness ! Santa also bought me some Moroccan Oil too. This is just the greatest little pep up for hair. Has anyone used it ?  This must be one of the beauty industry’s best kept secrets. I use it every day once I’ve washed and dried my hair. Just a tiny amount in the palm of my hand, and then rub through my hair to the ends. The smell is gorgeous, and this really does protect my hair, keeping the colour looking much fresher for longer

And of course in my stocking was all the usual chocolates, chocolates and yep……more chocolates!! So, I think I am going to have to resort to using one of our slimming aids pretty sharpish - L’OREAL PERFECTSLIM LIFTING PRO ANTI CELLULITE KIT – does what it say on the tin !! Smells delicious, smooths skin enormously and helps rid that horrible orange peel skin !!  I’ve used this before and it really is a great product, but you must keep it up – every day massage away and you will have better toned and more refined skin !

Hello Again

Well the little hot toddy and pick me up didn’t work on Sunday night. I have felt just rotten all week……infact today is my first day back at work. I know, I hear you………It’s only a cold, but I can’t tell you how rough I have felt! I think it was pneumonia in any case……. Anyway, I dragged myself in today for our last day before the Christmas break and of course for our Secret Santa present giving…ha !! I can’t believe what somebody bought me though…..a set of 4 shot glasses – what do they think? I am an alcoholic?  Oh well….maybe I do partake in the odd too many shots at times. Note to self……New Years Resolution 1 – must drink less……no, no…… must not drink at all. Become teetotal. That will do it. But infact these little shot glasses are very gorgeous…..we’re only supposed to spend a tenner on each other but somebody has spent way over that on my present as they are Waterford Crystal – am secretly very pleased. Hee hee! I’m not sure what Tony thought of what I bought him – a Christmas Apron with a big stuffed turkey on it……he’s been banging on about cooking the turkey for the whole month of December so I thought what better gift ?! Will protect his Christmas Best Clothes just perfectly!!

Anyway, enough about alcohol and Secret Santa - this is a cosmetics website and I should be talking about those !!! But, hey, not today…… Today is all about Christmas. The roads were still a nightmare this morning, and I slid all over the place in my little ice skating car, but I managed to make it in. Have stuffed myself on Quality Street since arriving and whilst choosing my next few products to test and trial, and that’s about it for today on the Cosmetics front. I think we’re off to the pub in a minute…..Oh no, I’m on about alcohol again !!! New Years Resolution 2……. No talk about the pub, drinks or alcohol in any of my blogs next year! Just MAC, Maybelline, LOreal, Benefit, Astor, Avon, YSL, Chanel, Bourjois, Clinique etc etc etc. Hoorahhhhhhh for make up – we love it. The cheaper the better!!!!
